About the show

En Suspendant

BY ZHian Productions

Imagine loosing someone really close to you in the crowd. In a chaos of blood and requiem of sounds demanding freedom. You hear the world moving around you, screams, yells, scratches, you hear but it’s hard to see. This is Tara’s story.

A loss, and a hope for its reappearance. Maybe a cry for help?… Maybe retelling a memory?

Three weeks later, when you sit to witness what she’s been through… the phone rings.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Zhian Productions

Windsor, ON

We are a Persian creative group dedicated to the souls of the people who were one day with us. Through art, we try to keep their memories alive, everyday, every moment, in every occasion. We use the chances we get to speak the voices that were never spoken.

Our mission is to use art as a simple, powerful tool to connect people of all backgrounds and build a deeper appreciation for Persian culture.

We acknowledge that we are on land and surrounded by water that is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg people of the Three Fires Confederacy which includes the Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Odawa.  Before Europeans arrived, the land along both sides of the river was referred to as Waawiyaatanong -- we are grateful to live, work and play in this area.

We give thanks to the land and water for sustaining us and honour the history and culture of all the Indigenous Peoples who have inhabited this area since time immemorial.
