Mallowmarsh Productions was born in 2017, when co-creators Emma Nelles and Jonas Trottier were still at drama school. Fresh off a rousing collaboration on a major creation project, they spent a few hours clowning around to create a short clown piece for a student cabaret. This endeavour proved so fulfilling and fun that they decided to take a leap, and formed Mallowmarsh Productions to enter that year’s Fringe Lottery with the dream of creating their first full length clown show together.

Year after year, the two friends relentlessly pursued a spot in the festival, undeterred when their number was never drawn, always trying again the next year. Finally, in 2025, Lady Luck smiled on them when they won a spot in the Toronto Fringe Festival, performing their newly minted show Milk Milk Lemonade in the Young Centre for the Performing Arts’ RBC Studio… the very same space where they had clowned around all those years before.

Milk Milk Lemonade enjoyed a galvanizing run at the Toronto Fringe, becoming a fan favourite, and walking away with both the Second City Award for Best Comedy, and the Strange Maker Award presented by What the Festival!. Since then, Milk Milk Lemonade has been remounted as part of What the Festival!, enjoyed a run at The Second City Toronto, and just recently played as one of the featured presentations in the Barrie Theatre Festival presnted by Theatre by the Bay.

Mallowmarsh is thrilled to be bringing their beloved Milk Milk Lemonade back to the stage here in Windsor, and clowning around with a whole new audience. They’re also busy cooking up their next collaboration, and hope to see you there!
